New Patient
We make it easy to get started—with clarity, care, and no surprises.
Your initial appointment with Dr. Mattila includes a complete consultation to understand your health concerns, pain patterns, and personal goals. We’ll perform a thorough examination to find out if we can help you and determine the best treatment approach for your specific needs. If appropriate for your condition, Dr. Mattila will provide your first treatment during this initial appointment. For most patients, this first visit takes approximately 30 minutes.
On your second visit, Dr. Mattila will address the four questions every patient has: What’s causing my pain? Can chiropractic help? How long will recovery take? And what will it cost? Having carefully analyzed your exam findings, Dr. Mattila will present a customized treatment plan designed specifically for your condition. Our financial officer will clearly explain payment options (including Care Credit), and answer any questions about the investment in your health. This two-visit approach ensures we have adequate time to develop the most effective treatment strategy for your unique needs.

We’re a cash-based (self-pay) practice, which means we don’t bill insurance directly in most cases. This allows us to focus entirely on your health—without the limitations or delays of insurance approvals.
As a patient, this means:
We’re happy to provide documentation you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.
If your visit is related to injuries from a motor vehicle accident, we can bill your auto insurance directly.
At Crest Chiropractic, our priority is serving you, not the insurance system.
No referral is needed to start care with us.
Initial evaluations are typically 30 minutes. Follow-up visits are around 10-20 minutes.
Comfortable, flexible clothing is recommended—like what you’d wear to a yoga class or workout.
A chiropractic adjustment is a gentle, controlled movement applied to a specific joint—most commonly to the spine. The goal is to restore normal motion, alignment and nerve function. It should not be painful, however you may feel mild temporary soreness afterward (similar to post-exercise soreness). A popping sound may occur, this is called joint cavitation – tiny gas bubbles release in the joint fluid, similar to when you crack your knuckles. Many patients report pain relief after an adjustment and in some cases results occur over a period of time.
